Redefine your goals and develop a mindset of endurance!
Ever find yourself doing too many things at one time, that you feel stuck and stressed with what to do next?
I want to remind you today to shift your focus and take the time to redefine your vision.
What is the one thing that you've been working at that you can't seem to finish?
For me, writing a previous article felt like I would never get to the finish line because I'd underestimated what it takes to write something with relevant content.
Maybe your heart longs for a change in your community or making an impact in your business. Yet, you struggle to find the time or even the resources to start working on your plan.
I'd like to give you 4 daily reminders I put into practice to shift my focus on my goals.
1.RE-VISIT YOUR PLAN
Do you have a 5 or 10 year goal written down, and if so how often do you review it?
Most of the time, we can often have stressors which distract us from our goals and we end taking more tasks than we can handle.
Perhaps you have too many plans written down that you lose focus on the one thing we would like to achieve first.
Re-visiting a written plan allows you to realign your goals and invites a reflective moment on whether you're making progress on it.
Does your vision include buying your first home, finding a mentor in your field or progressing in your career?
WRITE DOWN SO YOU CAN REVISIT IT REGULARLY.
2. SET A SPECIFIC TIME FRAME
Every goal or plan should have a time frame of completion.
Whether that's learning a new language in 3 months or learning to play guitar in a year.
Setting a deadline for your goals puts your mind into gear mode and distinguishes what your priorities will be.
"Purpose is tied to a time frame." - Jentezen Franklin
One way to do this is by using a Goal Setting table to track if you're working within the time frame of my goals. I created a downloadable pdf to use as reference :)
3. IT'S A DAILY CHOICE
You have the choice daily to allow what information feeds your mind and this can either be damaging or benefiting to getting things done.
Climbing any mountain takes having enough courage and resilience to remind yourself daily that you are unique and what you want to do is IMPORTANT.
Your goal or dream is relevant even if others can't see that yet!
I love an explanation by Dr. Caroline Leaf about the choices we make everyday.
She states in an article about toxic thinking that if we spend more than 7 mins a day on social media looking at other people's feed, this can cause us to fall into comparison and measuring our self esteem with others.
So rather than focusing on what others are doing, focus on your goals and appreciate all that life brings with it (even if it's not insta worthy.)

4.PRACTICE GRATITUDE
Enjoy the process of beginning your climb, because time won't turn back every experience and special moments that today brings.
Take the time every morning or during the day to write down 10 things you're grateful for today.
For me gratitude looks like this written down:
Good health in this current pandemic
A comfortable home
Wonderful family and friends
A job with supportive colleagues and managers
Incredible church family
My senses function properly
Strength in my bones
New friendships
Freedom to speak my truth
I'm slowly working towards my goals
As I look to pursue new career ventures in business, I remind myself to take a step back to see what the past 4 years of being a customer planner has consisted of in my current role.
The lows of feeling that I wasn't knowledgeable enough for my field or good enough to even start a blog.
The highs of getting to meet new people, being open to opportunities that challenge you to grow and finally learning to be grateful every single day has helped me in this season.
BE PROUD OF WHAT YOU'VE ACHIEVED SO FAR!
See the beauty of how far you've come! Shift your focus today.
I believe you can, Annette x
