Have you ever found yourself stuck in decision or what to do next?
Do you find yourself in need of inspiration to start a project or business idea but can’t seem to breakthrough?
I know for most of us, we’ve found ourselves in unprecedented times where life has become constricted and brought down to mere exercise and experimenting on different food recipes.
Well, what if you could change up your routine and come up with creative ideas to fill up your day, begin that idea you’ve had for months by just walking 30mins a day.
Recent studies by standard university in their journal have shown that walking can boost creative ideas and inspiration.
The study showed that “walking indoors whether on treadmill or outdoors could boost creative inspiration and produce more creative responses than the person who is sitting.”
Innovators such as Steve jobs would insist on “walking meetings” particularly if creative problem solving was involved during meetings.
This works particularly if you’ve been consumed with so many to do tasks that you end up feeling overwhelmed and out of touch.
It also works really well if you need to come up with creative solutions to everyday challenges.
For instance, if you have an important deadline coming up, a book you've been meaning to write but haven’t thought of a creative way start or complete the deadline in time, walking can definitely help to boost morale and kick in the right endorphins for us to feel happy and fulfilled.
WHY 30MINS
Not only does walking help to increase strengthen bones and help to reduce cardiovascular fitness, it also clears our mind of the stresses that we face every day.
Research suggests that just 30mins a day of walking can help to increase metabolism and also cognitive function in our brain. “From the scientific literature, getting people to engage in physical activity before they engage in a creative act is very powerful.” O’ Mara in the guardian
Walking improves self-perfection and self-esteem which make us achieve more things during the day.
You can also experience physical results in your mood and weight loss which in most cases, would make us feel more confident.
I love this statement from a faculty member at Santa Clara University; “This isn’t to say that every task at work should be done while simultaneously walking, but those that require a fresh perspective or new ideas would benefit from it,”- Oppezzo
So, what is it you’re looking to achieve and accomplish?
What’s that one thing you’ve been saying to yourself that you’ll begin.
Why not, put on your favourite shoes, grab a friend or spouse and go out for walk and experience creative ideas unfold.
STEP OUT TODAY AND EXPERIENCE A NEW FLOW OF IDEAS.
Love, Annette x
